Description
Hand-painted clay model of a six-horse pack string. The lead horse is being ridden by a red-jacketed man who is pointing to his left. The second horse carries a pack which includes a bear head and skin. The third horse carries gear, including a stove. The fourth horse carries a pack with a bighorn ram's head on top. The fifth horse carries a rider who is pulling his rifle from its scabbard. The sixth horse carries a pack with moose to a plain wooden base. Ropes, halters, etc., are made of twine. All clay surfaces are painted and varnished. A brass label attached to the front reads: "Trophy Hunters / painted sculpture by E.E. Heikka."
