Description

Four harness counter-balance loom with built-in bench and overslung beater. The quality steel reed is 9-dent (9 holes per inch), and each harness was made with two locally gathered peeled sticks. Heddles are hand-tied with 8/4 cotton warp in white, green, red, brown, & black. Pulley system is 2 cast-iron farm-style pulleys. The back beam is a hand hewn log, and the front (cloth) beam ratchet is a circular saw blade and a piece of forged metal with a flattened end.
