Exhibit: Mueller Family Legacy
Montana Historical Society
Oscar was an active contributor to the Montana Historical Society. His correspondence reflects his passion for historical work. He wrote several articles for Montana Historical magazines and worked closely with other researchers to ensure the integrity of the historical record.
Oscar wrote an article on Reed's Fort which prompted this response from MHS librarian David Hilger.
"Allow me to congratulate you on this very fine article, the best I have seen on the subject and written in an interesting and readable style."
George Mueller also made significant material and intellectual contributions to the Montana Historical Society. He shared the same passion for historical accuracy and integrity as his father.
George donated a copy on his DeLacy Map of the Montana territory to the Montana Historical Society.
"Since you so willingly assisted in the compilation of this display, we thought that you might like to see the results of our study."
Seen in the exhibit is the reproduction of George's map (far right). The MHS now holds George's copy in addition to the reproduction in the library.
