At first, the correspondence is formal as Oscar is just getting to know Josephine. These conversations revolve around his daily work activities and travel. However, deeper topics of conversation as well as more informal terms of address were shared as they got to know each other.
"It is hard to tell what results woman suffrage would have if any. If it would have no good result then I'm opposed to it. I think on some things woman's votes would tell and would be of some worth."
