Man in a travois.

Goff-Man in a travois.jpg

Title

Man in a travois.

Description

An older Indian man, possibly Bull Snake a Crow Indian, lies on blankets in a travois being pulled by a horse. The man wears a feather headdress and has arrows in his chest. The horse wears decorated tack and a saddle with high pommel and seat. Note: In April 2016, Grant Bulltail identified the man in this photograph as Bull Snake, a warrior who was wounded (shot in the hip) by friendly fire during the Battle of the Rosebud. This photograph might be a reenactment of that event. Bull Snake had his energy or medicine from the rattlesnake.
